Our client is a well-established IT services firm with over 40 years of industry success, offering custom IT and engineering solutions to mid-market and enterprise clients. Recently acquired but maintaining its strong culture and autonomy, they are expanding their team with a Director of Business Development to drive new business growth and long-term client relationships.

About the Role

The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities in the IT services and engineering space. This is a hunting-focused role requiring a strategic and consultative approach to selling complex solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT services sales, a strong understanding of project-based solutions, and the ability to drive deals from initial outreach to contract execution.

Responsibilities

· Develop and execute a business development strategy targeting mid-market and enterprise-level clients.

· Own the full sales cycle (3-6 months), from prospecting to closing large-scale IT services deals.

· Generate new business through cold calling, networking, and leveraging personal contacts, with leads provided to help build an initial pipeline.

· Identify customer pain points and tailor custom IT and engineering solutions to meet their needs.

· Build strong relationships with hiring managers, executives, and key stakeholders, ensuring long-term account growth.

· Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth client onboarding and project execution.

· Maintain accurate pipeline tracking in CRM systems and provide regular sales forecasting updates.

· Participate in networking events, trade shows, and conferences to expand market presence.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in IT services sales, with a proven track record of closing large deals and building long-term client relationships.

· Experience selling project-based IT solutions.

· Experience selling to C-suite, VPs, Directors, and key business stakeholders.

· Ability to strategically manage a sales pipeline, achieving and exceeding revenue goals.

· Strong hunter mentality, comfortable with cold calling, prospecting, and generating meetings.
