Backed by decades of innovation and supported by a network of global manufacturing and application centers, they’re expanding their U.S. footprint to better serve customers in industrial sectors like automotive, aerospace, metalworking, and general engineering.
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive regional growth across the Midwest, with a strong preference for candidates based in Michigan. This is a new business-focused role (approximately 80% hunting / 20% farming) ideal for someone who thrives in the field and understands the technical nuances of selling engineered abrasive products.
Responsibilities
· Drive new business development across a defined territory, visiting customers on-site several times per week.
· Manage and grow existing accounts remotely with a focus on long-term relationship building.
· Represent a portfolio of bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, and super abrasives.
· Partner with distributor reps, OEM customers, and internal product teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
· Maintain sales activity and reporting through tools like Excel, with CRM implementation on the horizon.
Qualifications
· 5-7+ years of industrial sales experience, with at least 2+ years in the abrasives industry.
· Demonstrated success selling into manufacturers and distributors.
· Brings an existing network of customer and industry contacts.
· Technically confident, able to understand and communicate custom engineered solutions.
· Self-starter with a consultative, customer-first approach to selling.
· Based in Michigan (preferred), or in Illinois/Wisconsin or nearby states.
